A Highgate Lib Dem councillor has slammed Labour-run Haringey council for waste and incompetence after it resurfaced a local street – just days after having all the lines repainted.
Cllr Neil Williams has accused the council of wasting time and money.
Cllr Neil Williams, who represents Hornsey Lane Gardens, N6, the street concerned, says that despite assuring him new checking systems have now been put in place, the council should apologise to local residents.
The council has admitted that the street was repainted around early September, with the resurfacing taking place from 23rd September. It has undertaken to put in place “additional checking systems” to ensure this does not happen in future.
Highgate councillor Neil Williams, comments:
Resident already having to cope with the hopeless new bin service in the Miltons area will be rightly dismayed by this waste. It’s staggering that the council did not have a workable system for checking this in the first place. It’s such a total waste, and a farce.
Local Lib Dem MP, Lynne Featherstone, adds:
It’s another all too typical tale of incompetence from the Labour-run council. Highgate residents deserve a council that uses their resources properly.
